Abstract:Objective To study the clinical effect of modified frontalis muscle flap suspension in the treatment of severe congenital ptosis. Methods A total of 65 patients ( 70 eyes ) with severe congenital ptosis who were treated in our hospital from September 2019 to September 2022 were selected as the research objects. All patients were treated with modified frontalis muscle flap suspension, and the clinical efficacy and postoperative complications were observed. Results Three months after the treatment, 70 eyes of 65 patients had good results, the effect was generally in 8 eyes, the effect was poor in 2 eyes, the overall good rate of 70 eyes was 85.71% (60/70). There were 4 eyes with incomplete eyelid closure, 2 eyes with exposed keratitis, and 6 eyes gradually recovered to normal, without upper eyelid entropion, ectropion, infection, trichiasis and conjunctival prolapse. The incidence of postoperative complications in 70 eyes was 8.57% (6/70). Conclusion Modified frontalis muscle flap suspension in the treatment of severe congenital ptosis can obtain satisfactory correction effect. After operation, the patients have symmetrical eyelid fissure, natural and beautiful eyelid margin radian, obvious and natural double eyelid, and lower incidence of postoperative complications, which is worthy of clinical application.
