Abstract:Objective To explore the teaching reform methods for implementing the practical ability of dental health education in undergraduate education under the background of "new medicine". Methods A total of 171 undergraduate students of grade 2018 in School of Stomatology, Guizhou Medical University were selected as the research objects. According to the class, they were divided into class A (n =84) and class B (n =87). Class A applied traditional oral health education, and class B adopted the mixed teaching method of oral science competition on the basis of class A. The results of theoretical final examination and practical examination were compared between the two classes. Results There was no significant difference in the final examination scores of oral health education between the two classes (P >0.05). The practical assessment score of class B was higher than that of class A, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Blended teaching combined with oral science competition can improve students' ability of science popularization, doctor-patient communication and teamwork.
