Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical e?ect of cosmetic suture technique in maxillofacial trauma surgery. Methods A total of 90 patients with maxillofacial trauma admitted to the Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM from March 2022 to March 2023 were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 45 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional maxillofacial trauma surgery, and the observation group was treated with cosmetic suture technique. The clinical indexes, wound healing and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The time of edema recovery, wound healing and suture removal in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, the operation time was longer than that of the control group, and the di?erence was statistically signifcant (P<0.05). The VSS scores of overall thickness, color, softness and vascular distribution in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the di?erences were statistically signifcant (P<0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was 6.67%, which was lower than 24.44% in the control group, and the di?erence was statistically signifcant (P<0.05). Conclusion In maxillofacial trauma surgery, compared with conventional suture, cosmetic suture can more effectively shorten the recovery time of postoperative edema and avoid infection in maxillofacial region. Meanwhile, the incidence of postoperative complications is low, and the wound healing of patients is better, which can e?ectively improve the e?ect of cosmetic repair.
