Abstract:To explore the effect of cosmetic suture technique in maxillofacial trauma. Methods A total of 42 patients with maxillofacial trauma admitted to our hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 were randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 21 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional suture technique, and the observation group was treated with cosmetic suture technique. The treatment satisfaction, quality of life, occurrence of adverse reactions, length of maxillofacial trauma scar and wound healing were compared between the two groups. Results The treatment satisfaction scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group (P <0.05). The scores of psychological function, material function, physical function and social function in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 9.52%, which was lower than 42.86% in the control group (P <0.05). The postoperative scar length in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group (P <0.05). The subjective score of wound healing in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion The application of cosmetic suture technique in maxillofacial trauma is effective, which can shorten the length of scar and improve the quality of life of patients. Meanwhile, it is beneficial to reduce the incidence of postoperative adverse reactions, improve the treatment satisfaction of patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
