Abstract:Objective To observe the changes of lip soft tissue in patients with bimaxillary protrusion of different skeletal types after orthodontic tooth extraction. Methods From January 2022 to December 2023, 78 patients with bimaxillary protrusion who underwent orthodontic tooth extraction in our hospital were selected as the research objects. According to the different FH-MP angles, they were divided into low angle group (21 patients), average angle group (34 patients) and high angle group (23 patients). Lateral cephalograms were taken and orthodontic tooth extraction was performed. The changes of lip soft tissue and dental tissue after orthodontic treatment were observed and compared among the three groups. Results After treatment, the LLL, ULL, LL-B'- Pos, Pog-Pos and cU1 thickness of the three groups were better than those before treatment, and the high angle group was better than the low angle group and the mean angle group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The cL1-X, cU1-X, LI-X and UI-X of the three groups after treatment were better than those before treatment, and those in the high angle group were better than those in the low angle group and the mean angle group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion After orthodontic treatment, patients with different skeletal facial types of bimaxillary protrusion have achieved full adduction, and the positive shape and lateral aesthetics of lip soft tissue have been improved, and patients with high angle have better effect in controlling the vertical height of X-ray.
