Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of multiloop edgewise arch wire in the treatment of anterior open bite. Methods A total of 80 patients with anterior open bite admitted to our hospital from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and experimental group, with 40 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional orthodontic measures, and the experimental group was treated with multiloop edgewise arch wire technique. The SNA angle, treatment satisfaction and dental function score were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the SNA angle of the experimental group was (76.47±0.23)°, which was smaller than (79.84±0.34)° of the control group (P <0.05). The treatment satisfaction rate of the experimental group was 95.00%, which was higher than 80.00% of the control group (P <0.05). The aesthetic score, masticatory ability score and bite force score of the experimental group were better than those of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Multiloop edgewise arch wire can improve the SNA angle of patients with anterior open bite, improve treatment satisfaction, improve tooth aesthetics score, masticatory ability score and bite force score, which is worthy of application.
