Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of orthodontic combined with restoration in patients with dentition defect and dental deformity. Methods From January 2021 to April 2023,181 patients with dentition defect and dental deformity admitted to the Department of Stomatology of our hospital were selected as the research objects. They were divided into conventional group (n =81) and study group (n =100) by random number table method. The conventionalgroup was treated with conventional restoration, and the study group was treated with orthodontic combined with restoration. The clinical efficacy, tooth recovery, complications and tooth function were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 94.00%, which was higher than 83.95% in the conventional group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The rate of teeth neatness, good rate of anterior overbite and good rate of posterior occlusion in the study group were higher than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). The incidence of complications in the study group was 8.00%, which was lower than 18.52% in the conventional group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The scores of swallowing function and language function in the study group were higher than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion The effect of orthodontic combined with restoration in patients with dentition defect combined with dental deformity is good. After repair, the tooth morphology and function of patients are improved well, the incidence of complications is low, and the clinical application value is definite.
