Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of invisible appliance and traditional functional appliance in the early treatment of odontogenic malocclusion (mixed dentition) in children. Methods From February 2021 to February 2023, 102 children with odontogenic malocclusion received by Chengdu Jinjiang Exquisite Oral Clinic were selected and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 51 children in each group. The control group was treated with traditional functional appliance, and the observation group was treated with invisible appliance. The treatment effect, periodontal index, appearance function satisfaction and complication were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the periodontal index and satisfaction score were better than those of the control group, and the incidence of complications was lower than that of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion In the early treatment of children with odontogenic malocclusion, the invisible appliance can achieve better therapeutic effect, improve periodontal health, reduce the probability of second-stage correction in permanent dentition, and improve the patient's appearance satisfaction. It is worthy of clinical application.
