Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of orthodontics combined with restoration in patients with dentition defect and dentognathic deformity and its effect on dental function and aesthetics. Methods From January 2022 to April 2024, 80 patients with dentition defect and dentognathic deformity admitted to Bincheng Jingcheng Dental Clinic were selected and divided into control group and study group by random number table method, with 40 patients in each group. The control group was treated with single oral restoration, and the study group was treated with orthodontics combined with restoration. The dental function, dental aesthetic satisfaction and complication rate were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the swallowing function, masticatory efficiency, language function and bite force of the study group were better than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The aesthetic satisfaction of teeth in the study group (97.50%) was higher than that in the control group (85.00%), and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The incidence of complications in the study group (2.50%) was lower than that in the control group (17.50%), and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Orthodontic combined with restoration treatment can effectively improve the dental function of patients with dentition defect and dentognathic deformity, improve patients' satisfaction with dental aesthetics, and reduce the incidence of complications.
