Abstract:Objective To analyze the improvement effect of cosmetic suture technique on facial scar in patients with oral and maxillofacial trauma. Methods Sixty patients with oral and maxillofacial trauma admitted to our hospital from August 2023 to August 2024 were selected and divided into control group and study group by random number table method, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was treated with routine suture, and the study group was treated with cosmetic suture technique. The scar condition, aesthetic effect, postoperative complication rate and treatment satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the scores of scar color, elasticity, shape and softness in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the scar length was shorter than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05). The aesthetic effect score of the study group after treatment was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in the study group was 6.67%, which was lower than 30.00% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). The treatment satisfaction of the study group was 96.67%, which was higher than 76.67% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Cosmetic suture technique can effectively improve scar score, enhance aesthetic effect, reduce the incidence of postoperative complications and improve treatment satisfaction in the suture process of oral and maxillofacial trauma, which is worthy of clinical application.
