Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of whole course moxibustion with acupuncture treatment on facial nerve function and facial paralysis degree in patients with wind-cold peripheral facial paralysis. Methods A total of 62 patients with wind-cold peripheral facial paralysis admitted to Yuyang District People's Hospital from June 2022 to May 2024 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into control group and study group according to the random number table method, with 31 patients in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine, and the study group was treated with whole course moxibustion combined with acupuncture. The clinical efficacy, facial nerve function [House-Brackmann (H-B), Facial Disability Index (FDI)] and facial paralysis degree (resting symmetry score, autonomic symmetry score) were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 96.67%, which was higher than 74.19% in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the scores of H-B, FDIP and FDIS in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and those in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). After treatment, the scores of resting symmetry and autonomic symmetry in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion The clinical efficacy of whole course moxibustion combined with acupuncture in the treatment of wind-cold peripheral facial paralysis is accurate, which can improve patients' facial nerve function and reduce the degree of facial paralysis. It is worthy of clinical application.
