Abstract:Objective To compare the effect of frontalis tendon membrane suspension (FMS) and combined fascial sheath suspension (CFSS) in the correction of severe ptosis. Methods A total of 100 patients with severe ptosis admitted to Wen'an Ancient City Hospital from November 2022 to August 2024 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into control group and observation group by the random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The control group was treated with FMS, and the observation group was treated with CFSS. The eyelid condition, lacrimal gland related indexes, correction effect and complications were compared between the two groups. Results The range of upper eyelid movement in the observation group was greater than that in the control group, and the value of upper eyelid retraction was less than that in the control group (P <0.05). The tear film rupture time in the observation group at 1 month after surgery was shorter than that in the control group, and the corneal fluorescence staining score was lower than that in the control group (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the total effective rate of correction between the two groups (P >0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups (P >0.05). Conclusion FMS and CFSS have comparable corrective effect and safety in patients with severe ptosis, but CFSS is more effective in improving patients' eyelid condition and lacrimal gland related indexes, and its application value is exact.
