Abstract:Objective To investigate the current situation and influencing factors of social support level in psoriasis patients. Methods From February 2017 to February 2019, 220 psoriasis patients admitted to the Department of Dermatology, Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine were selected as the research subjects, and the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) was used to investigate the social support level of psoriasis patients with different demographic characteristics, and to investigate the anxiety (GAD-7 score), depression (PHQ-9 score), sleep quality (PSQI score) and fatigue (VAS score), in order to analyse the influencing factors of the social support level in psoriasis patients. Results The level of social support was lower in psoriasis patients who were younger than 18 years old, without spouse or occupation (P <0.05). The scores of role function, vitality, social function, emotional role and mental health of psoriasis patients with high social support level were higher than those of psoriasis patients with low social support level (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the scores of physiological function, body pain and general health between psoriasis patients with different social support levels (P >0.05). The GAD-7 score and PHQ-9 score of psoriasis patients with high social support level were lower than those of psoriasis patients with low social support level (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in PSQI score and VAS score between psoriasis patients with different social support levels (P >0.05). Conclusion The social support level of psoriasis patients is closely related to their age, marital status and occupation. The professional ability of medical staff should be given full play to alleviate the psychological pressure of patients, so as to enhance their social support level and improve their quality of life.
