Anterior diastema is an oral disease caused by the loss of contact between anterior teeth caused by congenitally missing tooth, uncoordinated tooth mass and bone mass and irregular tooth alignment. The anterior diastema not only affects patient' s appearance, but also damages their periodontal tissue. The traditional treatment scheme is mainly a single orthodontics treatment or repair treatment, which often fails to meet the needs of patients for aesthetics and function. The combination of orthodontics treatment and aesthetic restoration can effectively close the anterior diastema. This article briefly describes the causes of anterior diastema. and based on the necessity analysis of aesthetic restoration combined with orthodontics treatment of anterior diastema, introduces the advantages and methods of combined treatment, in order to provide assistance for the treatment of anterior diastema.
