Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical effect of double eyelid plasty combined with lacrimal gland reduction surgery in patients undergoing plastic surgery for blepharochalasis. Methods A total of 88 patients undergoing plastic surgery for blepharochalasis admitted to Taizhou Luqiao Chengyan Medical Cosmetology Clinic from March 2021 to May 2024 were selected. According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group and the study group, with 44 patients in each group. The control group was given double eyelid plasty, and the study group was given double eyelid plasty combined with lacrimal gland reduction surgery. The surgical effect, postoperative scar scores, wrinkle condition, time for eye appearance returned to normal and hospitalization time were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the study group was 97.73%, which was higher than 81.82% in the control group (P <0.05). There were no significant differences in the scores of each dimension of VSS between the two groups (P >0.05). The score of the wrinkle condition after surgery in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P <0.05). The time for eye appearance returned to normal and the hospitalization time in the study group were both shorter than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion Double eyelid plasty combined with lacrimal gland reduction surgery can improve the surgical effect in patients with blepharochalasis, improve the wrinkle condition, shorten the time for eye appearance returned to normal and the hospitalization time, and does not increase the severity of the scar.
