Abstract:[Abstract] Objective: To analyze the effect of subtractive orthodontics combined with periodontal tissue regeneration on periodontal level and aesthetic appearance in patients with periodontitis and anterior tooth displacement. Methods: A total of 80 patients with periodontitis and anterior tooth displacement in our hospital from January 2020 to August 2023 were included in the study and randomly divided into the control group and the study group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with periodontal tissue regeneration, while the study group was treated with subtractive orthodontics combined with periodontal tissue regeneration. The periodontal inflammation level, aesthetic appearance, periodontal indicators, and complications were compared between the two groups. Results: After 6 months of treatment, the levels of periodontal C-reactive protein, interleukin-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the PES score and WES score in the study group were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the gingival, bleeding, and plaque index scores and periodontal probing depth in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05); the incidence of complications in the study group was higher than that in the control group, but there was no significant difference (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Subtractive orthodontics combined with periodontal tissue regeneration can reduce the level of periodontal inflammation, improve periodontal indicators, enhance aesthetic appearance, and has a relatively high safety.
