Abstract:Facial neuritis is characterized by functional facial movement disorders and facial muscle paralysis caused by facial nerve dysfunction, predominantly manifests as unilateral onset. Acute-phase management typically involves oral glucocorticoids combined with antiviral therapy and neurotrophic medications, while recovery phases incorporate acupuncture and tuina. Staged acupuncture combined with tuina can specifically improve facial nerve function in different courses of the disease, reduce abnormal synkinesis, and help to maintain facial coordination. Tuina combined with acupuncture can effectively promote the recovery of facial muscle function, reduce sequelae, and improve facial symmetry and aesthetics. This article mainly integrates the application progress of staged acupuncture and tuina techniques in facial neuritis and its influence on aesthetic effect, aiming to provide evidence-based support for the transition of facial neuritis treatment from functional rehabilitation to aesthetic prognosis, and provide a theoretical basis for clinical practice.
