Abstract:【】Objective: To investigate the effects of different surgical incision methods on postoperative aesthetics in patients with benign parotid gland tumors. Methods: 20 patients with benign tumors of the parotid gland who were admitted to our hospital from January 2023 to December 2025 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 10 cases in each group, with 10 cases in each group. All patients in both groups underwent parotid tumor resection combined with facial nerve dissection. The control group was treated with a traditional S-shaped incision during surgery, while the observation group received a V-shaped cosmetic incision. Differences in postoperative aesthetics, incision healing, facial function recovery, and quality of life were compared between the two groups. Results: Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly lower VSS scores, but significantly higher subjective satisfaction and comprehensive aesthetic scores (P<0.05); the observation group had a higher primary healing rate and shorter healing time (P<0.05); the excellent and good rate of facial nerve function recovery in the observation group (90.00%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (60.00%) (P<0.05); the postoperative quality of life in the observation group was higher (P<0.05). Conclusion: V-shaped cosmetic incision can improve postoperative aesthetics in patients with benign parotid gland tumors, promote incision healing, protect facial nerve function, and enhance quality of life.
